Miss Nubian Pageants (MNP) is a not-for profit, London based, community enterprise which was
Founded by Wabara PR ' CEO - Jacqueline Wabara ,the main objectives of which were to Propel
Talents whilst promoting Good Causes that benefit African Community in Diaspora. As one of the
UK' foremost Fundraising & Entertainment events, the MNP brand evolved specifically in response
to the demand from :-

Charities focused on alleviating poverty in Africa and who were looking for new ways to increase
awareness of their causes.
Young aspiring ,talented, intelligent, beautiful ladies of African decent who wished that they could
enter a Pageant irrespective of :-

- which African country they originated from
- their height or size

Talented artists seeking exposure and viable platforms to perform

Mission
" To re-define the concept of Pageants and successfully dispels the myths and negative
perceptions that Pageants are just about beauty.

" Stage an Annual UK Talent, Fundraising, Entertainment, Beauty & Fashion Extravaganza which
provides an invaluable platform that will:

" Enable the contestants of the Pageants to convey their levels of intelligence in addition to their
external beauty and personal attributes, factors that other traditional Pageants, tend to overlook.
" Promote African culture /heritage within the Europe.
" Raise awareness on behalf of Good causes that provide opportunities and funds for sustainable
solutions towards alleviating child poverty, improving health, education transport, utilities and the
built environment in AFRICA in the Diaspora.
" Provide an invaluable platform for talented vocalists, dancers, comedians, fashion designers of
African Origin to showcase their talents.
" Provide an opportunity for the local community where the events are staged to participate in
MNP ' Volunteering Programme whereby they are able to gained invaluable skills and experience and
improve their employability levels

The mission was finally realised on Saturday the 18th Oct 2008 which earmarked the day that
Nubian History was made when Yai Ceesay who hails from Gambian was crowned the 1st Miss
Nubian 08 during the Inaugural Miss Nubian Pageant UK Grand Finale. The Fundraising,
Beauty,Fashion & Entertainment Extravaganza was held in the heart of London's Canary Wharf.
@ the Exquisite - Britannia International Hotel ,proved that the finalist who hailed from 9 different
African countries , were more than just pretty faces and paved the way for this years eagerly
awaited ' UK Grand Finale 'which again will be held during the UK' annually celebrated. Black History
Month... namely .OCTOBER

Vision

MNP 'aims to be at the forefront of 'All African' Pageants for young ladies based in Europe of
African origin. Miss Nubian Pageants is Italy is currently being planned....
Additionally MNP Caribbean Queen Pageants are also in the pipeline
